The three-state task system: Wait, In Progress, Done

Binary checkboxes lie. A task is either done or it's lumped into everything else — the not-started, the blocked, the actively-in-flight. That's not useful information.

Doneflow uses three states: Wait, In Progress, and Done. This gives you an honest picture of your work.

Wait (red) means it's on your radar but you haven't started. In Progress (orange) means you're actively working on it. Done (green) means it's finished.

The middle state is the most important one. It forces you to be honest with yourself about what you're actually working on versus what's just sitting on your list pretending to be work.

When everything is "not done," it's easy to fool yourself into thinking planning is progress. The three-state system makes that illusion harder to maintain.

A click cycles through the states. No dropdowns, no modals, no friction. Just tap and move on.
